November 30th, 2008 by Bauani | No Comments | Filed in Google, Internet Search

If you are owner of a website, have concern about the PR (PageRank) value of your website and off-course user of Google, just stope reading this article and update your Google Profile Now!

Yes, Google Profiles are now available from TOP PR value website http://www.Google.Com/ ! Recently Google has update there main robots.txt file with an sitemap entry pointing to http://www.gstatic.com/s2/sitemaps/profiles-sitemap.xml having millions of Google User Profile’s URL. User profiles are having public searchable URL hosted on http://www.google.com/ domain. If you are currently logged in to Google, visit http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/me/editprofile to update yours now.  After finishing update, google will host it on there main site with URL something like My Google Profile

A lot of people around the net wonder why that google indexed there profile on a separate domain gstatic.com.  It seems easier to roll out these files to the server. Google is a big big big data center network, so if you would like to distribute these files to the google domain you would have to wait hours, propably days that they are all the same on all data centers. just put it to a seperate smaller serverfarm you can roll out these files much much faster. Comments posted on a Blog regarding Google Profiles.

Thease profiles is still lack of ‘rel=nofollow’ tag, having larger value on Search Engine Optimization. From the point of view of some SEO Experts, “People are forgetting though that Google doesn’t *need* nofollow to be added. They can quite easily achieve the same effect with an internal rule.” they also expressed “It would be shocked if this is passing any SEO juice either”.

This is also to be noted that http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/ are not restricted by robots.txt .

Yahoo Profile Got New Looks

November 28th, 2008 by Bauani | 1 Comment | Filed in Yahoo

On October 16, 2008, Yahoo! introduce new shiny look on there profile service with aim to make a big social network.  They introduce a new look for the user profile, and the ability to create “connections,” which are mutual friendships. That’s it for the front end.

Over the next few months, they say, Yahoo properties will begin to integrate with the new profile. So if you answer a question at Yahoo Answers, for example, the activity will show up in your feed update. Eventually the front page of Yahoo Mail will show what your friends are up to as well. And one thing I really like - emails from your connections will be highlighted, so you can read them first.

Before this new look, Yahoo user can see / create their own profile on URL look like : profiles.yahoo.com/<UserName> . I have a Yahoo! email account with ID ‘bauani’ for a long time and my profile page was in http://profiles.yahoo.com/bauani/. It was a simple page with very informative options to express yourself in brief. But in their new addition it is not that much easy anyway. You have to give your ‘Full Name’ to create a profile!

The comments from users were unambiguous - they were pissed off.  Common complaints include the fact that the new profile must include your full name, which your connections (friends) can see, as well as the removal of a few features that I’ve never heard of (like Cool Links) that apparently some percentage of users really, really liked. But by far the biggest complaint was the fact that all of the information in the old profiles was wiped clean, and users were presented with a blank slate like the one above (which is mine). Some users also noted that there was no message on that blank profile letting users know what just happened to their data. You had to go to the blog posts to understand what happened.

November 20th, 2008 by Bauani | 2 Comments | Filed in Hosting Company

Monthly Web Server Survey of Netcraft, an Internet services company providing Internet security services, including anti-fraud and anti-phishing services, application testing, code reviews, and automated penetration testing has been published.

Result of this web server survey in November 2008 showing some interesting information of Yahoo Inc on web server market share. Yahoo Inc is now start identify their web servers as ‘YTS’ (Yahoo! Traffic Server).

Netcraft Reports:

Yahoo! is thought to use YTS to provide reverse proxy and connection management in a number of its services, although many of the company’s sites were previously configured to omit the Server header in their HTTP responses. Yahoo! sites thought to use YTS include BixdeliciousFlickr and Yahoo Groups.

Yahoo! traffic server originally developed by Inktomi Corporation, which has been acquired by Yahoo Inc on 2002.  Now this traffic server used to serve over 12 billion requests per day and further development made by Yahoo’s own team.

By introducing YTS on HTTP response header, Yahoo! seems to start their war to grab the world web server market share.  By the way, Google Inc used to identify their web server as ‘GWS’ (Google Web Server).

India Offers Electricity for Bangladesh

India Offers Electricity Exports for Bangladesh.

In a meeting with India’s State Minister for Power and Commerce Jairam Ramesh and M. Tamim, an aide to the head of Bangladesh’s interim government, Indian authority offers up to 1000 MW electricity from plants in Tripura, where generation capacity exceeds demand, and other north-eastern Indian states bordering Bangladesh.

Mr. Tamim ask India to give a formal proposal to verify the possibility of Electricity import from India.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India s installing the 700 MW plant at Palatana, 60 km (38 miles) from Agartala, the capital of Tripura, but has warned the project may be impacted by turmoil in markets.

Mr. Ramesh proposed Bangladesh could be a partner in the Tripura power plant, with 10 to 15 percent share, Tamim said.

The World Bank said on Saturday it had approved a $350 million loan for Bangladesh to build more power plants to help overcome a chronic shortage of power.

Interesting Facts of Bangladesh Voter List and National ID

November 19th, 2008 by Bauani | 1 Comment | Filed in Interesting

From the blog of Bangladesh Community, I got to know the interesting information of Voter List the National ID Project of Bangladesh. As per the posting of Mr. Mustakim Islam’s Post:

The reams of paper used in the voter list and national ID project is enough to cover 850 football fields!

Isn’t a threads Against or Green World!

The laminating foils used, if staked one above another would outsmart the height of Mt. Everest by 3.5 times!

Again the plastic show it’s performance on our daily life.

The total size of all the DVDs used is about 50 terabyte! Can hold all the Hollywood movies made so far in digital format!

Where the storage of this information? In Bangladesh with proper security or Any ‘Safe’ place in world, where it most needed?!

The total size of the database (largest in the world, larger than CIA and FBI) is equal to the overall size of the data available in the Internet (excluding video and graphics). It is five times the size of all the books (converted in digital format) available in the largest library of the world - the Library of Congress!

Oke, let’s call Google Inc to make a ‘Search Engine’ to find my name ‘Bauani’ from this database…

If one typist sits to type all the data (without any break, sleep, food, toilet) he would need two and half centuries to complete the project by himself.

We have outstanding typing skill and 150 Million People in Country, no need to type it by One Person;)

Even the giant laptop manufacturer DELL fell short in their raw material to supply the laptops for this project. They had to dig in African soil for silicon for the production of microchip!

Where the soil coming out from this dig? African’s should staked this soil to make a another record.

Samsung company supplied us the printer toner. The man-in-charge of Samsung company came to Bangladesh only to make sure that the demand we placed was accurate. He was confused about the number of zeros we put after 1 in the demand form!

Samsung should replace that ‘Man in Charge’, For failing to understand the ‘True’ demand. By the way, where is the ‘GreenPeace’ people, they should start counting the Carbon created by this project and Samsung should ‘buy the Carbon credit from our Country’. It would be another way to get forex for Bangladesh.

This is the fastest collection of demographic data in the world. The second is Pakistan. They took 5 years. Many European countries are visiting us to learn how to do this job.

The loesears. We again showed “We Can Do”

The most accurate database in the world - UN Chief of Bangladesh.

Where is the UN Chief? He need to certify the Quote…

The most common birthday in Bangladesh is 01 January - 1.29% according to estimate. The least is - 29 February, naturally - .009%!

I can see ‘Good Day’ for the public in ‘Notary Public’ industry…

If all the voters in Bangladesh (8,06,00,000) unite, they can choose any party/president/ prime ministers in the world through free and fair election(Except for India and China)!

Let’s Change The WORLD, Yes, We can Do. Proved

Oil and Gas Exploration in Offshore Area of Bangladesh will Delayed

November 2nd, 2008 by Bauani | No Comments | Filed in Bangladesh Business

Oil and Gas Exploration in Offshore area in Bangladesh will not start by this winter. According to officials, Bangladesh will not be able to start the process of offshore oil and gas exploration by this winter.

BdNews24.Com Reports:

The interim cabinet at a meeting on Sunday directed the officials to place fresh proposals after further scrutiny for signing contracts with the two companies previously nominated through technical evaluation.

Chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed chaired the meeting.

After the meeting, M Tamim, special assistant to the chief adviser in charge of power, energy, and mineral resources, told bdnews24.com that directives were given to scan those proposals.

The ministry officials said as exploration work usually starts in the winter Bangladesh lags behind most neighbouring countries.

The two companies winning the bid are Conoco-Phillips and Tullow. The former is due to get eight deep-sea blocks –10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21 – while the latter is set to sign a production-sharing contract for Block 5, they said.

it also reports:

The government called an international tender on Feb 15 for 28 offshore blocks, and Petrobangla opened the bid documents on May 7 to complete evaluation of the proposals in three weeks.

Seven international companies that responded include the Houston-based Conoco-Phillips, Australia’s Santos International, Longwoods Resources (a US-China joint venture), Korea International Oil Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC), Comtrack Services and London-based Tullow.

The government would sign a four-year exploration deal for shallow sea blocks and a five-year for deep-sea blocks – both renewable by four years, officials said.

Following submission of development plans, agreement will be signed for gas and oil fields for 25 years and 20 years respectively.

The companies will pay compensation in case of accidents stemming from neglect and inefficiency.

Any company wishing to sell more than 50 percent of its shares would have to take permission from the government, ministry officials said.
